Alabama A&M Makes History as First HBCU with Corporate Jersey Patch Deal

Alabama A&M University has broken new ground in college athletics. On July 31, 2026, the Bulldogs announced a historic partnership with Omni2Max Inc., making them the first HBCU to secure a corporate jersey patch deal for their football program.

How It Became Possible

The partnership was enabled by a January 2026 NCAA Division I Cabinet ruling that approved commercial patches on uniforms, apparel, and equipment, effective August 1, 2026. Under the new rules, schools can display up to two commercial logos — each no larger than four square inches — on uniforms during the preseason and regular season, with an additional logo permitted during conference championship events.

Alabama A&M wasted no time. The Omni2Max logo will appear on the Bulldogs' jerseys for the entire 2026 season.

The Partner: Omni2Max Inc.

Omni2Max is a San Diego-based professional technical services firm specializing in cybersecurity, engineering, information technology, logistics, program management, and systems administration. The relationship pre-dates the jersey deal — in October 2025, Omni2Max representatives visited Alabama A&M's College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Sciences to discuss collaborations in STEM education, workforce development, and research.

What It Means

Dr. Paul A. Bryant, Alabama A&M's Director of Athletics, called the agreement a reflection of the athletic department's innovative direction and the strength of the university's brand. Dr. Allen F. Maxwell, Omni2Max's President and CEO, described the partnership as an investment in the university's student-athletes and future leaders that extends beyond jersey visibility.

While specific financial terms were not disclosed, the deal is seen as a template for other HBCU programs looking to tap into the new NCAA commercial patch rules as a revenue stream.
