The stretch run is here. Every member of the SWAC plays on Saturday, November 7 — all six games kick at 2 p.m. local time — and the MEAC has a matchup that could decide its Celebration Bowl representative.
Jackson State vs. Mississippi Valley State — Senior Day in Jackson
Jackson State (6-2, 3-2 SWAC) welcomes Mississippi Valley State (3-6, 2-3) to Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium at 2 p.m. CT for Senior Day, with the Tigers wearing their "Black Camo" theme and the game streaming on HBCU GO. JSU is coming off an open date after a painful 24-21 loss at Bethune-Cookman on October 24, when Tyler Jefferson hit Rickie Shaw II for a 19-yard touchdown with 40 seconds left. Jackson State had gone ahead 21-17 on a Li'Darious Pryor touchdown run with 2:56 remaining, and a 49-yard field goal try at the end missed. The Tigers had been No. 1 in the Black college poll before that game.
Mississippi Valley State arrives after a 52-17 loss at Alcorn State. For JSU, a win keeps the Tigers right behind Alabama A&M in the SWAC East, with trips to Alabama State (Nov. 14) and Alcorn State (Nov. 21) still ahead.
Alabama A&M at Prairie View A&M — The Title-Race Showdown
Alabama A&M leads the SWAC East at 7-2 (4-1) after edging Alabama State 31-28 in the Magic City Classic. Prairie View is 4-5 overall but 3-2 in league play, part of a three-way tie for first in the West with Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Alcorn State. The Advocate's power rankings this week named the Bulldogs and Panthers the two teams driving the race.
The Rest of the SWAC Slate
Florida A&M at Alcorn State, Alabama State at Texas Southern, Bethune-Cookman at Southern, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Grambling State round out the conference card. Southern is coming off a 42-14 win over FAMU, while UAPB scored 63 points against Bethune-Cookman last week.
MEAC: South Carolina State at Howard
South Carolina State (7-2, 2-0 MEAC) has won 12 straight conference games and visits Howard (4-5, 1-1) in Washington, D.C. NC Central (2-0 MEAC) travels to Norfolk State at noon and Morgan State visits Delaware State at 1 p.m.

(2 p.m.), Miles visits Tuskegee for Homecoming, Fayetteville State visits Winston-Salem State for Homecoming, Johnson C.
